RAJA AMPAT · INDONESIA

Raja Ampat's
traditional comfort.

Batanta Adventures Homestay balances incredible outdoor and wildlife experiences with rustic luxuries along a stunning white sand beach on the Indonesian island of Batanta.

A TRANQUIL ESCAPE

A homestay built within the island, not apart from it.

Just a 10-minute boat ride from the Batanta village of Marandan Weser, also known as Yennyar, travellers can experience exceptional ecosystems in a tranquil environment. Relying on traditional ways of living, our Homestay features breathtaking views, unique comforts, and magical moments.

Whether you are into scuba, snorkelling, hikes through the jungle, or just relaxing on a beach, Batanta offers it all.

Reef & Sea

Manta rays, dugongs, and pygmy seahorses across untouched reefs.

Deep Jungle

Trek to hidden waterfalls through dense rainforest canopy.

White Sand

A quiet, private stretch of beach at the edge of the jungle.

Traditional Life

Rooted in the village of Yennyar and generations of island knowledge.

THE GEOGRAPHY

The smallest of the four kings.

Batanta is the smallest of four islands that make up the Indonesian region of Raja Ampat. Stretching just over 60km long, the island features dense jungle forest and white sand beaches along a gorgeous coastline. It is remote — services are limited, but your access to nature and one-in-a-lifetime memories is unmatched.

The nearly untouched jungle is home to rare lizards, birds and mammals. Low boat traffic means many sea creatures seek refuge in luscious coral reefs and seagrass fields along protected bays, creating exceptional snorkelling and diving.

SUSTAINABILITY & TRADITION

Where the way it's always been done meets what comes next.

At Batanta Adventures Homestay, we work with several partners to ensure our business doesn't disrupt the natural ecology of the landscape or the livelihoods of the people who call this small island home.

PARTNER

Solar Power Indonesia

Powering our facilities through innovative solar rather than running cable or powerlines through the jungle.

MORE COMING

Growing our circle of partners

We're continuously adding new collaborations that keep Batanta wild, healthy, and cared for by the community that calls it home.

THE PEOPLE

Not a homestay built apart from the culture — one built within it.

Batanta's story is inseparable from the people who call it home. The nearby village of Marandan Weser, known locally as Yennyar, has lived alongside this coastline for generations, passing down traditional fishing, building, and farming practices that work in harmony with the island's fragile ecosystems.

Our staff and hosts come from this community. Staying with us means experiencing island life the way it has always been lived — welcomed into a way of life shaped by generations of knowledge, hospitality, and deep respect for the land and sea.

YOUR ISLAND ESCAPE

Your island escape is waiting.

From world-class diving to jungle waterfalls to simply doing nothing at all on a white sand beach, Batanta is ready for you.
